Superstar Spelling
Let's be truthful. Spelling is not an exciting subject to teach. Often, we give a list of words on Monday and test the students on their memory of them on Friday. It does not have to be that way. I have found that what I ever I spend time and energy on, my students will too. There are many activities than can provide fun spelling practice. Designating a literacy or learning center to spelling will provide your students with drill and practice that students will want to do. I have put together the best activities for implementing spelling fun in the classroom. It is easily adaptable to any level. There is even a homework idea that gives students a choice in how to practice those words. This great resource can be found at Teachers Pay Teachers. Get yours today!

Read Aloud Worksheet
Often times, I would read a story aloud to my students and require them to take the reading quiz online. I came up with this short worksheet for the students to document the activity, reflect on the story, and allow a little time to get the testing done on the computer. Since I usually scored this activity and used it to document progress, I liked that I had something to send home at the end of the week.
